FS Dell Arte Bigtone Pickup/Bridge

This is a Dell Arte made Bigtone that was designed for external use. The wire is insulated and the endpin has a Velcro attachment to be used on a Gypsy jazz tail piece. It is an ebony bridge stamped number "2". I cut the wire to use it internally. You can use it internally as I did or splice the wire back and use it externally (so you do not have to put a hole in the top of your guitar). I found the number "2" Dell Arte bridge to be a bit high compared to my number "2" Dupont bridge, so I filed it down a bit. You can shape or shim this bridge to your taste.

I'm trying to track down a recording of the Colin Cosimini Trio's "Just a Gigolo" album. Is there anyone on the forum who's willing to sell a copy or knows where I can find one? It's out of print and unavailable on DB. I've been scouring the web only to have hit a brick wall- it's just that rare, apparently. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Looking forward to Django in June, I'm sure it will be fabulous as always. If anyone heading there is looking for an archtop I will have a beautiful 1953 Epiphone Triumph Regent with me for sale. Big body (17 3/8 inch lower bout) carved spruce top, carved maple back, their carved top cutaway guitars are fairly rare. This one is quite clean, has the original Lifton hard shell case, and has an excellent sound. Has nickel roundwounds on it right now, gives a somewhat brighter sound, lots of volume and cuts through. Asking $3100, also have a DeArmond pickup available. PM if interested, thanks for looking.

Also included is the Audio Technica AT 8418 Unimount instrument mount (these sell for $39)

Selmer Maccaferri guitars can be difficult to amplify. Django would have loved this modern option). Some archtop players find this a great way to amplify the acoustic archtop.

Finally, a pup that's perfect for gypsy guitars--sounds great, isn't noisy, is light, thin, fits perfect, requires no modification to the instrument, is made in the US and sells for a great price (especially this one--at least $15 less than you'll find anywhere else and it's BRAND NEW, WITH ORIGINAL PACKING; obviously, I'm losing money on it).

I bought this for a guitar I had sold before it even arrived. I opened it to photograph but it has never been played.

If you might have been wondering whether to go with this one or the other model Krivo (single coil), go with this one: It's quieter, sounds more transparent, is a tad less shrill. Honestly, all of Jason's products are terrific, but I think this is the best one for gypsy guitars.

Bob Holo Traditional Model Gypsy Jazz Guitar For Sale



I purchased this Bob Holo Traditional model about two years ago. It has a Big Tone Pick-Up professionally installed along with a complete set-up. There is absolutely no fret buzz or any issues of any kind. The action is set fairly low, just under 2 mm. There is not a ding, scratch or even a single pick graze anywhere. This guitar is literally mint condition and ‘show-room new’. I never played it. When I say this guitar has never been played and is in mint condition I mean it. I don’t use the term ‘mint’ lightly. I bought this guitar, put it in my humidity-controlled room where it has sat. This guitar is new and perfect, period.

I don’t ever sell guitars and have a small but beautiful collection of about 36 guitars, all of which I play, except this one. I am selling this one, and this may sound corny (but it’s true) because it genuinely bothers me that this particular guitar is sitting in a case when someone who truly loves gypsy jazz could be creating joy for themselves and others playing it (I have a Shelly Park and Dupont if I get the GJ bug again). No joke, it really does bother me, this should be in the hands of a great player. This is the right guitar for someone who wants to be inspired, is a passionate, serious enthusiast or professional. Or, like me, just has more money than talent…hahahah.

WTB: Gitane DG310 Lulo, Altamira, Patenotte, or another around $600

Hi all,

A few years back I bought a Gitane DG300 Jorgenson model from Josh here, and it sounded amazing. However, I didn't get along with the neck profile and long story short ended up selling it and going a different direction musically. I'm getting back into playing Gypsy Jazz now and am in the market for a guitar. I recall playing a Gitane DG310 Lulo Reinhardt model and liked the neck profile, so if anyone out there has one they'd like to sell, then feel free to send me a message here.

I'm also open to other options for around $600, maybe an Altamira with the more recent C shaped neck profile, maybe a Patenotte. I absolutely love the design of the model 260. For the right guitar I might be able to stretch my budget.

I'm in the process of selling some gear so I should have around that much to put towards something. I recently acquired an Eastman AR800e oval hole archtop with pickup and I think I'm going to sell it, as good as it sounds.

2004 DuPont Nomade Oval - $1500

Here's a Dupont Nomade I have owned for 5 years. Grain is beautiful, she has aged nicely. The tone is unbelievable; the action is at about 2.2 mm and simply plays like butter.

I include a great K&K Definity pickup (very natural sounding and feedback resistant), and a gigbag. For anyone who has played an older Nomade vs the new ones, well there is a big difference. I vowed to never sell this guitar but I am not playing it, which is a waste. 24 Hour review. $40 Shipping in conus.

A few superficial flaws:
¾ Ding in lower bout
Small Chip at end of fretboard on top
Tiny hole under bridge (where a piezo wire was previously installed)
Small piece of laminate missing underneath end pin jack

Model XO
Features
Straight grain laminated old stock Brazilian rosewood back and sides, sets can be chosen by customer.

Heat-treated European spruce top

Original grafted headstock.

Distressed relic finish.

Neck is reinforced with two carmbonfiber plates & two-way adustable truss-rod

"Thermotimber" is a heat treatment procedure for wood, usually used for construction and carpentry woods. Tampere University of Technology, Luthiery department of Ikaalinen School of Arts and Crafts and a company named "Suomen Ekopuu" has developed a special heat treatment procedure which is suitable for tonewoods. The normal "Thermotimber" procedure has some unwanted side effects for tonewood (decreasing elasticity, decreasing bending strength and colour changes). Certain special modifications to the procedure give many great advantages including increasing the speed of sound and resulting in a lighter weight, These can be reached without any unwanted effects mentiioned above.

On X-O, the relic finish is done with a water-based stain straight to wood, natural shellac and very slight amount of nitrocellulose to neck, back and sides. No sealers or fillers are used. Compared to a normal finish, vibrating mass is reduced, and the guitar is more sensitive, clear and crispy. It really feels like an old Selmer.

"Djangolin" gypsy mandolin built by the late David Hodson of the UK. It is the 503AM model, #218.

This is one of David's early Djangolins, with mahogany back and sides and solid headstock. Later versions were rosewood and had slotted headstocks.Very light in weight, with no problems that I am aware of.

The instrument is in excellent condition and comes with a nice TKL tweed case. $800.00 including shipping in the US (or best offer)
