Selling left handed d’angelico New Yorker II

Hi everyone,
I’ve decided to sell my 98 New Yorker 2.
Asking 3200
This is an EXCELLENT Japanese D’Angelico, worlds better than the current Korean guitars. It has a very open sound, since I bought it two years ago it’s been played a lot but cared for very well, hardly any new dings on it, just a couple small ones on the top, I’ll take close up pics if you’re interested.
Got lots of good glamour shots here.
A cool note about this guitar, apparently when vestax (the parent company producing D’angelicos in the 90’s) had an order for a lefty New Yorker, they didn’t want to machine tooling for a lefty tailpiece. So they carved this sweet rosewood one you can see in the pics. Way better looking than the gold plated if you ask me

Will ship to the US. Contact me with your address and we’ll figure out shipping costs

Spread the word to your lefty friends!

Hi,

I'm selling my Olivier Marin guitar from June 2011.
It is in perfect condition, I have played it a lot and taken well care of it, so it doesn't have any bruises or very little and it sounds fantastic with the typical rich and balanced sound of Olivier Marin guitars.

It has spruce top and maple back and sides.

It can be seen on those videos when it was brand new in June 2011:

DI MAURO MODÈLE DJANGO GYPSY JAZZ GUITAR FOR SALE

Ok, too may guitars and this one isn't getting played. Excellent condition and a bargain price for a real vintage Di Mauro. I am in Australia so for overseas buyers bear in mind shipping costs and the delay to get the CITES certificate. The former would be about $320 including CITES which can take up to 40 days max to process (although it can be a lot less). The CITES application can't be applied for in advance because they need the recipients details for the application, so the delay is inevitable, but hey, how often do these come up?
Anyway, here is the ebay link and I can accept Paypal.

https://reverb.com/item/17130840-pierre-fontaine-petite-bouche-gypsy-jazz-guitar-1970s-includes-hard-case-and-strings

Early Pierre Fontaine gypsy jazz Selmer-style guitar. Made by hand in Paris. Has a very authentic, loud gypsy sound (especially with fresh strings). The high end sounds great. Included a video of how it sounds. Apologies for the super sloppy playing. I'm not a soloists and playing in front of a camera makes me pretty jittery, heh.

Includes a "tobago" hardshell case and 3 sets of 1610 ball-end Argentine Savarez strings.

Contact me on Reverb if interested.

1950's J.B. Castelluccia - For Trade

Hello,
Some of you probably saw it on reverb already. (https://reverb.com/item/16617054-french-gypsy-jazz-guitar-castelluccia-for-rene-gerome-1953-aged-natural-satin)
I decided to go a different way with this guitar and I would like to trade it for a solid body electric guitar.

It's a 1953 J.B. Castelluccia with a label by René Gérome on the inside. (It was pretty common to have luthiers build guitars for other labels).
I found this guitar in France few years back. Guitar was repaired, a new ebony fingerboard, frets and nut was recreated.

Top is spruce, Back and Sides are ply. The guitar has a soft Bombé on the back.

14 cases out the body.
Scale is 26.5".
Width at nut: 1.75"
Upper bout: 11.25"
Lower bout: 15.5"
4" deep.

This is a perfect collector guitar or the perfect instrument for a django aficionado.

Some of the veneer bindding is missing.

I would probably change the tuner for some SB tuners and I would change the bridge but it's playable right now.

Feel free to ask questions.

Thanks!!!

2011 Olivier Marin

2011 Olivier Marin guitar. Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Cocobolo back and sides. Cedar top, and Cyprus neck. One of the best sounding Marins I've tried. He is a very consistent builder in quality and sound, though this one has something special about it. The tone is very Marin, but has a bit more of an old school sound to my ears. The guitar has2 Small cracks and repair on the lower right bout; the repair was done by Olivier when it happened in 2012. Waiting time for a new guitar can be over a year at this point, and starting at 3500 euros, for a guitar that may or may not sound how you'd envisioned. Price: 3200 euros + shipping
I can't seem to upload pictures at this point... been trying for 30 minutes... but I will email photos to any seriously interested parties.

Di Mauro Modèle Django for sale

$

Ok, I have pulled the trigger on getting a new luthier made guitar built to my specs and have decided to sell the Di Mauro.
A nice example of the Modèle Django in the rare sunburst finish which is in good condition with just a few small chips.
It still has the original yellow button Delaruelle tuners, floating bridge and trapeze tailpiece.
The top is spruce and the neck looks like mahogany, I can't tell what the laminate back and sides are.
Scale length is 640mm (25 1/4")
From what I have read the gold decal on the upper bout dates it to the 1960s. The neck is straight and although the frets have some wear they have been crowned and polished and there is plenty of life left in them yet.

I am in Australia and the relevant authority states that it can take up to 40 days to obtain the CITES certificate, which I can't apply for until it is sold as they need the recipient's address details too.
So.
What I suggest for any international buyer is that a non-refundable AU$100 deposit will hold it while I apply for CITES papers with the rest to pay as soon as the certificate is received ready to ship.
Asking AU$1,000 for a quick sale plus shipping which will be about AU$320 to USA or Europe.
(AU$1320 = US$930 at the time of writing).
I can supply many more photos if required.

Jean Barault oval hole

I’m selling my Jean Barault gypsy jazz guitar. I ordered the guitar directly from Jean Barault and received the guitar end of 2013. I’ve played it a lot and it has served well hundreds of gigs. It’s a really unique sounding guitar with a wild and loud resonance. You can really feel it resonating against your body when you play it and one reason for this could be the super light weight around 1.7kg. The top of the guitar is incredibly thin and you can easily bend it with your thumb. The top is spruce, back and sides rosewood, neck walnut, fingerboard ebony and Jean Barault tuners. The original hard case included (the handle is broken).

If a typical gypsy jazz guitar doesn’t have much bass and is dominant in the middle and high frequencies, this guitar has much wider frequency response with deep and resonant bass. If you know what it means when a guitar barks, imagine a guitar that screams when you dig the g-string! The sound is also very dry with no boominess in the bass which makes this pretty easy guitar to play concerts with just putting a microphone in front of it. It’s a loud and delicate guitar and a soft touch brings the best qualities out of it for example in a recording sessions or when played in a room.

The top and back of the guitar has been refinished with shellac because the original lacquer had been suffered too much. After refinishing the guitar actually sounds more open and even louder than before. It’s now in pretty good condition taking into account the years of gigging with some dings and scratches here and there mostly on the sides. The top of the guitar is stable and hasn’t changed over the years.

If you’re interested write me a private message and I'll give you more details!

This is the model:

Here’s also a video where you can here it:

Price 2900 euros plus shipping. The guitar is now in Finland.

Up for sale is my AJL 503 XO.

The guitar sounds and plays amazingly. I am just curious to try out some other guitars.

No major issues with the guitar. No breaks or cracks. There are scratches as you can see in the pictures, but I do not know which are from playwear and which are from the relicing process. A clear pickguard was installed by Djangobooks.

Comes with a Superior Hardshell Case and CITES paperwork (for the brazilian rosewood back, sides and bridge).

Price is $3,650 shipped and PayPal'd to the continental US only or best offer.

Only trades I would consider is towards a Barault or a Gibson L-5.

I'm selling my MJS Godefroy Maruejouls guitar, best guitar I've ever owned so reluctant sale.
Solid European spruce top with traditional pliage, solid Spanish cypress back and sides. Five part mahogany and ebony neck, bound rosewood fingerboard. Traditional French polish top, nitro everywhere else. German made Rubner tuners, MJS brass tailpiece.
Minor marks in the finish, normal playing wear, one ding in the top, all cosmetic, no cracks. Tuner hole each side is partially visible (see photo), you can barely see it but I'm trying to mention everything! Traditional Selmer style flat fingerboard radius. Frets are great.
Plays and sounds fantastic, very, very loud and resonant, no problems hearing it in a jam.
Comes with original Hiscox case.
With this spec the guitar would be over £3200 at current prices.
Hope it goes to a good home.

2013 ALD La Cocobella

$

I sadly have not been playing anywhere near the amount of gypsy jazz this guitar deserves. This is in the exact condition I bought it in (it's never left my house), and I bought it from Michael through this site. The guitar in question is literally this guitar: http://www.djangobooks.com/Item/ald-la-cocobella-2 - which has a much better description than I would post, so just click that :).

I am asking $4200, which is less than I paid for it.

Thanks,
Mark

FS: Vintage Stimer

Dear friends,

I'm selling a vintage Stimer pickup, most likely from the 70s. It has a bright, punchy sound, and a much higher output than modern reproductions like the Duponts and the Peche a la Mouche. It also has a ludicrously large volume knob which I'm rather fond of.

In any case, I'm asking $375.00 plus shipping. As there's an identical pickup currently on sale on Reverb for more than twice this, I think the price is fair. Cable included.

Please pm me if you have any questions.
